Marilyn with Sweater, graphite pencil on paper, 11 x 14 inches.
I always loved the photo that this drawing was based on. In the photograph, her black sweater is a flat black plain without detail or depth. A nice contrast with her other features when on film, but I figured I would need to attempt more detail for the pencil rendering. But I hate making stuff up, especially on such a detailed portrait. In the end, I decided that a value fadeout was a nice way to shout "this is a drawing"!
